First I'll list hotels on the east side of town, but beware -- downtown Minneapolis is ~8 miles west of downtown St. Paul, so the east side hotels should really be considered alongside some of the suburban hotels. There aren't too many hotels in St. Paul, where the main event of the Republican National Convention is being held. The good news is that most of them are in or near downtown, so if you luck out and manage to get a room, you'll be within walking distance of the convention.
